This new route in ROUVY is Christmas themed and mostly downhill with 2 climbs, one at the very end of the route. The group was mostly together, except for the uphills, which stretched out the peloton.
Hilchenbach is about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) northeast of Siegen. The town borders in the south on Netphen, in the west on Kreuztal, in the north on Kirchhundem and in the east on Erndtebrück. (Wikipedia)
Here is a quick screen shot of the riders today. Duke was as strong as always and steady on the climbs.
We had a new rider with us, very strong, Kugellino. On my screen, he was rubber banding a lot!

COURSE COMMENTS:
This short distance course measures 20.26 miles. The course is downhill at the beginning reaching speeds of 40 mph without much effort. The scenery is classic Germany in the Winter with snow falling.
This is a Christmas course that came out on October 31, 2024 with snowmen peppered along the course and snowing. There is lots of sunshine and you get the feeling of riding in the snow on a winters day. I’m curious if the snowmen and Christmas theme will disappear after the holidays?
The course has 2 climbs of about 2-4% grades and is relatively short. They are both followed by downhills where you can reach speeds in excess of 40mph. The finish is less than a few kilometers from the top of the last climb.
The STRAVA virtual segment is called the Lützel climb in Erndtebrück, Germany.
