RIDE RECAP:

This was another amazing ride with 83 riders scheduled! The course had just a few little climbs and was mainly downhill.

This was a scheduled recovery ride. The main group kept the pace consistent and around 2.0 to 2.5 watts/kg.

The Challenge Vieux Boucau or OLD BOCAU CHALLENGE is the bicycle portion of the Triathalone course that is held in France every year. The Championship in 2025 will carry a professional prize purse of 100k euros. A unique professional qualifying system will firstly see professional athletes able to qualify for The Championship 2025 via Challenge Family events worldwide.

Age group athletes will have the opportunity to qualify with a top-six age group finish at any Challenge Family event worldwide during the qualification period. Top six teams in the male, female and mixed categories in relay events will qualify for The Championship at Challenge Family events.

Slots will roll down in each age group and relay category up to 12th place. There won’t be a roll down system for professional athletes. (Challenge Boucau Website)

COURSE COMMENTS:

The Strava LIVE segment is the Mixe segment and Tine Hill. The Mixe segment runs about 3 miles at a 0.5% gradient and Tine Hill just over a half a mile at 3.4%.

This course is a short distance course of 22 miles/35KM with an average gradient of 0% with a maximum of 12% on Tine Hill, with an elevation of 423 feet. The course was added to ROUVY on April 5th, 2023.
