RIDE RECAP:
This was an amazing ride in Norway along the Lovatnet Lake, a beautiful turqoise lake in Northern Norway with Glacier filled views.
We had over 88 RIDERS scheduled! The course had just a few little climbs and the longer LOEN climb near the end of the course. This was a scheduled CHILL ride (2.5 – 3.5 watts/kg). We kept the front group mainly at that pace with a few surges on the up and downhills near the end of the course.
This was an amazing course with scenery and a beautiful cruise ship in harbor. lots of livestock, a roaring stream, amazing blue skies with scenic glaciers, definitely one of the nicest and prettiest courses on ROUVY!
Thanks to everyone who participated today!

HISTORICAL:
Briksdalsbreen is one of the most accessible and best known arms of the Jostedalsbreen glacier. The views on this route are phenomenal.
Briksdalsbreen is located in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. The glacier lies on the north side of the Jostedalsbreen, in Briksdalen (the Briks valley) which is located at the end of the Oldedalen valley, about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of the village of Olden. It is located inside Jostedalsbreen National Park. Briksdalsbreen terminates in a small glacial lake, Briksdalsbrevatnet, which lies 346 metres (1,135 ft) above sea level.
The turquois lake along the route is called Lovatnet or Loenvatne in Northern Norway. This is a huge lake in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. It is located about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southeast of the village of Loen and about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) east of the village of Olden. The lake lies just 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) southwest of the mountain Skåla. The water from the lake flows down from the mountains; especially from the Jostedalsbreen and Tindefjellbreen glaciers. It then flows out through the Loelva river into the Nordfjorden. (Wikipedia)
